The G61-429 multimedia laptop from HP has a high definition screen, helping the user to work and watch TV & movies using the same screen. It is aesthetically designed and looks appealing with a glossy HP finish. Unlike many successful mini laptop computers from HP, this one falls in the category of traditional laptops.

Technical Specifications
This HP device runs on an AMD Sempron processor clocked at 2 GHz. The processor has 512 KB L2 Cache. The system has a memory of 3 GB MB DDR2, enabling it to handle any graphics rich application with ease. The hard drive has a capacity of 250 GB and runs at 7200RPM, whereby, the user can store a large volume of photos, videos, music, and any other documents.

The G61-429 has a special burner drive called the LightScribe. This special feature is a super multi drive of 8DVD+R/RW which can support two layers. The device can be connected to a Wi-Fi as well as a wired Ethernet. This feature enables connection to a broadband modem through Ethernet 10/100 Mbps.

The resolution of the laptop screen is 1366 x 768 and supports high definition for graphics. Since this laptop also has a HDMI port, users can also watch photographs or video on a separate high definition TV by connecting through HDMI port. The display screen is quite wide with a diagonal measurement of 15.6” HD screen. However, the HDMI connecting cable has to be bought separately.

The Good
The HP G61-429wm Laptop comes with an original Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) pre-installed in it. Additional softwares include Microsoft Works Student 2007 edition. The LightScribe feature is very useful as one can personalize DVD and CD labels.

The Bad
